First Meeting of New Luxembourg Collectors Club at PACIFIC 97
APRIL 21, 1997--BELMONT, CALIFORNIA--The newly formed Luxembourg Collectors Club will hold its inaugural meeting at the PACIFIC 97 World Philatelic Exhibition in San Francisco on June 5, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. in the Moscone Center (Room 256). All collectors of Luxembourg philatelic material are invited to attend this important meeting.
The goal of the LCC is to provide information on all aspects of Luxembourg philately and to encourage collectors to better understand and appreciate the unique history and culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The June 5 meeting will feature the following three presentations:
- "Cancels and Postal Markings of the Rouletted-in-Color Issue", by James R. McGee of Sacramento
- "The First Issue of Luxembourg", by Edward H. Jarvis of San Francisco
- "Philately in Luxembourg", by Jos Wolff of Luxembourg (President of the Federation of Luxembourg Philatelic Societies)
Many valuable door prizes will be given out at the meeting. The banque du timbre stamp store in Luxembourg City has donated copies of its award-winning PRIFIX 1997 Specialized Catalog of Luxembourg Postage Stamps. In addition, the Luxembourg Office des Timbres has contributed copies of "Eis Post" ("Our Post"), a book on the history of Posts and Telecommunications operations in Luxembourg from ancient times to 1992.

This site also includes plenty of other interesting information for stamp collectors, including images of almost every Luxembourg stamp ever issued and of rare covers and classic stamps.
